Dr Sofia Costa is a Gynaecologist and Obstetrician dedicated to Reproductive Medicine since 2019, supporting couples and women throughout their reproductive journey with a personalised, safe and compassionate approach. Since July 2025, she has been part of the Procriar team, where she focuses exclusively on Reproductive Medicine, combining scientific rigour, clinical expertise and individualised attention for each patient.
She graduated in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon in 2008 and completed her specialty training in Gynaecology and Obstetrics at Hospital Senhora da Oliveira in Guimarães between 2010 and 2015. At the same time, she completed a Postgraduate Degree in Clinical Sexology (2014–2015). In 2016, she obtained the rank of Senior Hospital Consultant, marking the beginning of a solid and diversified clinical career.
Her involvement in Reproductive Medicine began in 2019 at the Medically Assisted Reproduction Centre of Hospital Senhora da Oliveira, where she was part of the clinical team until 2023. From 2023 to 2025, she worked at the Reproductive Medicine Centre of ULS Gaia/Espinho, further consolidating her expertise in fertility treatments and specialised care of patients in highly complex clinical contexts. She also maintains clinical activity at Hospital Lusíadas Porto.
Recognised for her expertise in Sexual Health, Dr Sofia Costa is a Sexual Therapist certified by the Portuguese Society of Clinical Sexology, a Fellow of the European Committee of Sexual Medicine, and holds the Competence in Sexology awarded by the Portuguese Medical Association. She is an active member of both the Direction of Competence in Sexology of the Portuguese Medical Association and the Direction of the Portuguese Society of Clinical Sexology, contributing to education, research and scientific development in the field.
