Dr Diana Melo Castro has been a specialist in Gynaecology and Obstetrics at Procriar since 2023, where she is dedicated to the care of couples in the fields of reproductive medicine and infertility. She is a member of the Portuguese Society of Gynaecology, the Portuguese Society of Reproductive Medicine and the International Society of Gynaecological Endocrinology.

She completed her Integrated Master’s Degree in Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto in 2008 and obtained specialist accreditation in Gynaecology and Obstetrics in 2016, following the completion of her specialty training at the Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro Hospital Centre.

Between 2014 and 2017, she worked as a Hospital Consultant in the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics at the Tâmega e Sousa Hospital Centre in Penafiel, joining the Fertility Support Unit in 2020. At the same institution, in 2022, she established and currently leads the Gynaecological Endocrinology and Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology clinics.

Until 2024, Dr Diana Melo Castro was involved in undergraduate medical education for medical students at the University of Porto and served as a training supervisor for the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Specialty Training Programme at the Tâmega e Sousa Hospital Centre. In 2022, she obtained IOTA certification in gynaecological ultrasound and, in 2025, achieved the status of Consultant within the Medical Career.

Alongside her work at Procriar, she has been practising as a Consultant Gynaecologist and Obstetrician at Hospital da Luz in Vila Real since 2021 and also provides consultations at Porto Clínica and Uniclínica.
