The Obstetrics consultation, under the responsibility of Dr. Joana Mesquita Guimarães, intends to monitor the pregnancy, naturally achieved or with the use of Medically Assisted Procreation techniques, from the beginning until the delivery, with the purpose of ensuring the well-being of the mother and the baby during the gestation period. To this end, periodic ultrasound examinations and cardiotocography are made, in addition to the important follow up done by the nursing team, where vital parameters are carefully monitored and nutritional advice given.

The Andrology consultation, with Dr. Nuno Louro, aims to assess the male factor in the couple with infertility. Andrological research purpose is to identify: - possible reversible conditions, in order to allow the fertility improvement and a potential spontaneous conception; - irreversible conditions but in which is possible to use one's own sperm in PMA techniques; - irreversible conditions in which it is not possible to use one's own gametes; - potential serious underlying clinical conditions; - genetic conditions that may affect the health of the offspring, if PMA techniques are used.

Procriar offers clinical psychology service as a way to improve conscious decision-making, in couples and individuals, as well as to increase the emotional and cognitive resources necessary to deal with the most diverse everyday situations. With the couple is important to understand the functioning of the communication channels, and, in general, the consultation focuses on the acceptance and careful analysis of the life path, preparing patients for new phases that might be challenging.

Procriar provides a pre and post conceiving Genetic Counselling consultation, done by Prof. Sérgio Castedo. To this consultation may resort couples with personal or family history of hereditary diseases and / or chromosomal disorders, in order to be informed of its implications, particularly regarding the possible risk of transmission to offspring and available reproductive options (e.g.: prenatal diagnosis or preimplantation genetic diagnosis - DGPI). Whenever the DGPI is required within our legislative framework, the corresponding medical report will be prepared at the Genetic Counselling consultation, in order to prosecute the case.
